Photo 6

This photo shows the rebuilding of the Bakelite block capacitors and the rectangular can which held several bypass capacitors. The old tar and capacitors were removed from the Bakelite blocks and new mylars installed. The blocks were not refilled with wax because when installed, the open side is against the chassis and cannot be seen.
The cardboard ends of the rectangular can were removed, and the old caps pulled out. Cloth covered hook-up wire leads were soldered to replacement mylars, installed in the can and held in place with hot glue. Next the cardboard ends were re-installed.
The can with it's contents removed can be seen lying at the top of the shop towel, just below the can is a block capacitor with the contents partially removed, and next to it is one with new capacitors installed. The two black rectangular objects to the right are the ends from the capacitor can.
