A genuine Mk7 Paraset. So here it is pictures of an original Paraset as submitted by ON6WJ. Jos is glad that he had the chance to meet a very friendly Mr. Erik Evrard the owner of a genuine and very early model Paraset who gave him the opportunity to take photographs of this unique PARASET Jos has submitted the photos but hopes that no one will make any profit from them as he is not doing so himself. This is why a watermark has been placed on each photo. They are submitted just for all enthusiasts and interested people to see!!

As the story goes the current owner of the set is a certain Mr Evrard. As boy he played a lot with this "radio" and many years later, when his father died, he rediscovered that "radio" in the attic when cleaning/emptying the old family home. The story continues.....Jos's dad worked on the railway and this set was given to him by a work colleague....a Mr. Ronval. Mr. Georges Ronval now Silent-Key was a radio amateur with callsign ON4RU (info: from RTT callbook 1976 ) was the original owner of this paraset., During WWII Mr. Ronval was a "pianist" and a member of the Belgian resistance

Well we have heard again from Jos who says :- "I guess I have solved a bit the puzzle concerning the original owner this unique Paraset, "the mysterious" Mr Ronval.... Mr. Evrard put me on the right track and today searching in a callsign handbook of the RTT= "Regie van Telefoon en Telegraaf" the former Official Telegraph and Telephone Company. In those times such companies were in the "public domain" and had a monopoly on everything dealing with communication. Mr. George Ronval was a Radio Amateur with the call: ON4RU (as listed in the 1976 call book)." "Mr. George Ronval was a Radio Amateur with the call: ON4RU (as listed in the 1976 call book)." "Following a chat with Mr. Evrard, Mr Georges Ronval (who would now be over 100 years old.....so in 76 he would already have been an old timer hi!!) lived in a village near Brussels - Linkebeek, No. 4 Rue de l'Eglise". No more is know about Mr Ronval, unless you know better, if so please email details to us ... |
